Flux Digital LLC's new DVD2App software makes it for the first time possible to convert standard Video DVDs into native apps for iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets as well as Amazon Kindle tablets.
Apps created with DVD2App keep the full interactive menu system optimized for touch, all audio and subtitle tracks and can be extended by using HTML overlays with connectivity to websites and social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and many more.
They are distributed directly via Apple's App Store, Google's Play Store and Amazon's App Store. It is possible to set individual pricing or make them available for free.
"DVD2App works great for me. Within hours I had converted my training DVD and shortly after submitting they were available in the app stores," says Bob Miller, maker of educational DVD courses.
Ron Dabbs, COO of Flux Digital, adds: "Companies have authored great content on DVD which is not available on mobile and tablet platforms until now. DVD2App makes this possible by re-purposing the existing DVD – without the need for costly individual programming of apps for multiple platforms."
DVD2App is available as of now and can be downloaded from www.fluxdvd.com/dvd2app. Pricing starts at $999. A trial mode enables the creation of fully functional apps free of charge.
