For 30 years, Quantum Data has been at the leading edge of the audio/video test industry. You’ll find Quantum Data equipment in design labs and production facilities of major consumer electronics and information technology manufacturers throughout the world.
Quantum Data’s mission is to invent test instruments that help manufacturers and service providers bring next-generation audio, video and control products to market—faster and without interoperability problems. Interoperability problems often delay the delivery of next generation technologies. Their most recent quantum leaps in technology continue in this tradition of solving interoperability problems.
Quantum Data was among the first to ship test solutions for DisplayPort source and display devices over a year ago and continues to lead the pack today. When equipped with the DisplayPort interface, the 882E provides HDCP compliance testing for display devices and link layer compliance testing for both source and display devices. The DisplayPort solution also provides auxiliary channel monitoring, pattern testing and functional testing of display devices, and it can conduct timing measurements for DisplayPort source devices.
The 882E offers pattern testing, functional testing and compliance testing for EDID, CEC and HDCP on HDMI-based devices. The EDID and CEC compliance test tools are used in the HDMI Authorized Test Centers (ATCs). The HDMI-HDCP compliance application is approved by Digital Content Protection (DCP), LLC making it the only authorized test tool commercially available for purchase. The 882E test instrument also supports testing of the latest HDMI features including Deep Color, lipsync, x.v.Color and high bit rate audio formats.
The HDMI-based HT-180 Handshake Tester is Quantum Data’s newest test instrument. The HT-180 is a portable, handheld device that assists in troubleshooting of HDCP, EDID and hot plug related problems in HDMI systems during development and testing. The HT-180’s LCD interface provides simple reason codes to identify suspect equipment. But the instrument also comes with an I2C protocol analyzer (Auxiliary Channel Analyzer) for monitoring HDCP and EDID transactions over the I2C bus. These transactions provide valuable insight into interoperability problems. The Auxiliary Channel Analyzer transaction logs can be viewed on a PC and disseminated electronically.
Quantum Data is demonstrating these new interfaces and products here at CES. The 882E with the DisplayPort option is being presented at the VESA DisplayPort TechZone in the Sands Expo and Convention Center, booth 73611. The 882E with the HDMI option as well as the HT-180 Handshake Tester are on display at the CEA-HDMI TechZone in the LVCC South Hall 2, booth 21266A. Take the quantum leap; come see their new test solutions at the CES show.
