Mike Tsinberg, founder and President of Key Digital Systems, is an Emmy award winner, SMPTE Fellow and has been called the “Father of DVD.” Tsinberg founded Key Digital as a research and development company dedicated to designing the most innovative solutions for HDTV signal processing and distribution. For more than 20 years, he has been a technological pioneer and an icon in the HDTV industry, defined by his groundbreaking work in the field of Digital HDTV broadcasting and in the development of the world's first DVD authoring systems. His company, Key Digital, has already won eight CES Video Innovation Awards for state-of-the-art home theater video processing products.

CEDN: What new products have been introduced by Key Digital recently?
MT: We have recently introduced four new products; KD-MSCAT8x8, KD-VP2000, KDVACTX and KD-VACRX.
- KD-VP2000 is a video switcher capable of scaling, de-interlacing, up-converting and down-converting any source, input and output to virtually any standard and high definition up to 1080p.
- KD-MSCAT8x8 is a video and audio matrix switcher capable of converting up to 8 to 8 independent outputs via CAT5/6/7 with digital and analog audio which includes: volume, tone, balance and control.
- KD-VACTX is a video/audio VGA/component smart balun with control and CAT5/6/7 transmitter.
- KD-VACRX is a video/audio VGA/component smart balun with control and CAT5/6/7 receiver.
CEDN: How do you foresee the future of Key Digital in terms of research and development?
MT: Key Digital’s vision for the future is [CAT5] baluns and the integration of CAT5 into new products and categories. In just a short period of time this versatile and low cost CAT5 cable has become widely adopted for networking and Ethernet applications. For 2008, Key Digital will bring the advantages of CAT5 to engineers to deliver analog and digital video, audio and now control with our new line of smart baluns.
