The Consumer Electronics Association is kicking its effort to educate U.S. consumers about the impending DTV transition into high gear this week with new promotional materials and advertising featuring TV mom Florence Henderson.
CEA has published Florence Henderson's Digital Tips, with the Brady Bunch icon in an effort to reach out to the less than technology-savvy consumers who may still be unaware of the impending DTV transition. The effort is part of CEA's ongoing "Convert Your Mom" public education campaign with Henderson that includes television commercials, online resources and other outreach efforts.
"CEA and its member companies are doing everything possible to make sure that viewers make well-informed decisions and continue to enjoy their favorite channels after February 17, 2009," says Gary Shapiro, CEA's President and CEO. "We are rolling out several public awareness initiatives over the course of this year, and this brochure provides important information presented clearly and attractively to a targeted audience."
Interested individuals can obtain Florence Henderson's Digital Tips by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to "Digital Tips," P.O. Box 73, Fanwood, NJ 07023, or download and print a copy at www.digitaltips.org.
