The Chicago Tribune is citing a Dell insider with word that the electronics manufacturer is preparing to exit the LCD TV business.
While Dell representatives quickly denied the report, the Tribune says four insiders have confirmed that the company will stop production on LCD TVs under its own brand this month. Dell will, however, continue to sell TVs from other manufacturers.
Dell got into the branded TV business in 2003, but has never cracked the top 30 LCD vendors worldwide, according to DisplaySearch rankings.
