It's official, Microsoft is adding a new, top-of-the-line Xbox 360 to its gaming setup. The Xbox 360 Elite features a 120GB hard drive (the largest available for any gaming console),an HDMI port for high-definition input, a high-definition cable and a black finish. The Xbox 360 Elite also includes a black wireless controller and black Xbox LiveĀ® headset.
The larger capacity hard drive gives users the ability to download hours of HD TV shows, movies and other video on the Xbox Live Marketplace, as well as store volumes of games, music and other content. Microsoft also announced today that a stand alone 120GB HDD will also be sold for current Xbox 360 owners looking to upgrade their storage capacity.
"Today's games and entertainment enthusiast has an insatiable appetite for digital high-definition content," says Peter Moore, Corporate Vice President for the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft. "Xbox 360 Elite's larger hard drive and premium accessories will allow our community to enjoy all that the next generation of entertainment has to offer."
The Xbox 360 Elite, which will retail for $479.99, and its accessories are expected to begin arriving in U.S. stores on April 29.
