Bogen Imaging gave us a tour of their booth at the Sands this afternoon, showcasing the new consumer offerings from Manfrotto, National Geographic and Kata.
The Manfrotto Modo is the world's first photo and video tripod designed specifically for everyday use and small form digital cameras.
Available through Bogen Imaging in the U.S., the Modo combines all the best professional features from Manfrotto's top of the line products in an ultra-compact, lightweight, low-cost tripod. The tripod has increased stability control, as well as a unique handle trigger that allows the user to lock the camera at any angle instantly with the push of a button. Similarly, the tripod legs can be instantly converted to any angle with a revolutionary click-wheel control at the base of the head.
Bogen has once again joined forces with National Geographic to provide professional photographers and enthusiasts alike access to the National Geographic Earth Explorer collection -- an ideal blend of today’s cutting-edge protective carrying technology and a traditional explorer look and feel. The backpack comes in three sizes, all with modular internal compartments that gives users the ability to fully customize the placement and padding surrounding valuable photographic equipment. According to Bogen Product Manager Doug Feldner, the collection has core fan base among amateur and professional photographers, but also has seen exploding general consumer interest because of the unique protection and styling the line provides.
Additionally, in recognition of National Geographic’s commitment to conservation, each bag in the Earth Explorer collection is manufactured from a variety of environmentally friendly, natural sourced material, including fibers such as hemp and cotton, and includes features like all-metal antique brass buckles. Moreover, a portion of each sale benefits NG's outreach and conservation programs.
Bogen Imaging is also now the U.S. source for Kata's Ergo-Tech Collection. We first showcased these bags during the PMA Canada show in Sept. 2006, and the line has since expanded to a variety of new sizes and features, giving consumers state-of-the-art designs, bags, packs and cases for camera equipment of any size.
The line is surprisingly lightweight, flexible and extremely durable. What's more, the Ergo-Tech line blends a variety of well known and versatile materials to create bags that are as fashionable as they are functional for on-the-go photographers, or anyone else with a cellphone, PDA, MP3 player, laptop or other electronic device in need of easy and affordable protection.
